At Wilber National Bank, we appreciate the trust our customers place in us and recognize the importance of protecting the confidentiality of nonpublic personal information we collect about them. In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information. Our commitment is to protect our customers' information to ensure that it is maintained in a secure, confidential and accurate manner. This privacy notice provides you with an understanding of how Wilber National Bank collects, uses and maintains your nonpublic personal information, and serves as a standard for all Wilber National Bank employees in the collection, use, retention and security of such information.
Privacy notices that you receive from other financial institutions may contain “opt-out” provisions that require you to request that your information not be shared with third parties. Please be advised that because we do not share your information with third parties (other than as permitted by law), there is no need to notify us to “opt-out.”
What Information We Collect
We may collect "nonpublic personal information" about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others; and
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.
“Nonpublic personal information" is information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your account balance, payment history, and overdraft history.
What Information We Disclose
We are permitted under law to share information about our experiences or transactions with you or your account (such as your account balance and payment history with us) with companies related to us by common control or ownership ("affiliates"). Our affiliates include financial service providers, such as our insurance agencies and mortgage bankers. We are also permitted under law to disclose nonpublic personal information about you to "nonaffiliated third parties," (i.e. third parties that are not members of our corporate family) in certain circumstances. For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to such third parties to assist us in servicing your loan or account with us; to government entities in response to subpoenas; and to consumer reporting agencies. In addition, we may disclose the following information to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms such as your name, address, and social security number; and
- Information about your transactions with us or our affiliates such as your account balance, payment history and parties to
transactions.
We do not disclose nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as cited above or otherwise permitted by law. If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.
Protecting Personal Customer Information From Unauthorized Access
The security of your personal customer information is very important at Wilber National Bank. We have practical and reasonable information safeguards in place to protect your personal information, which include physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that are designed to comply with federal standards. We train our employees on the requirements of our Privacy Policy and procedures. Employees who violate these standards will be subject to disciplinary measures.
Accuracy of Customer Information
Wilber National Bank believes it is vitally important that the information we maintain about your account(s) with us is accurate. We maintain internal controls and audit procedures to ensure the accuracy of your information. If you ever have a question or concern about the accuracy or completeness of your information, you may call us at 607-432-1700 and we will take immediate steps to correct the information or amend our records.
